FAVORITE PENS

I admit it - I am a total pen geek/addict/junkie! The finer the point, the better. The other day, a fellow pen geek visited me at my new office and we discussed office decor, which morphed into a discussion of office supplies...which of course focused on the virtues of the ultimate superfine point pen.

So, I thought I'd share some of my all-time favorites:

1. UNIBALL SIGNO RT MICRO (.38) GEL

My absolute favorite pen! I discovered this little gem after using the Uniball 207 Ultra Micro (.38) and the Pilot G2 Ultra Fine (.38) gel ink pens for a long time. The 207 Ultra Micro (.38) seemed a little sharper and scratchier than the G2 Ultra Fine (.38) but I do like a bit of feedback with my pens so scratchiness isn't really an issue as long as the pen doesn't skip or blob. Both were good pens, but this little beauty bumped the 207 Ultra Micro .38 and the Pilot G2 Ultra Fine right out of my top 5's. Uniball calls this "micro" (usually their micro = .5) but it is definitely "superfine" at .38.

2. PILOT HI-TEC C SLIM KNOCK (0.3) GEL

If you're a fan of the amazing Pilot Hi-Tec series, you'll be happy to know that it also comes in this retractable (and very mini) version.

3. UNIBALL JETSTREAM 3 MULTI PEN (.38) BALLPOINT

I've loved multi-pens since my college days, waaaaaay back when everyone still used pens and *paper* notebooks in class. I remember taking notes and hearing everyone clicking their old-school Bic 4-color pens (mine was the orange barrel version with the fine point, of course) in sync, whenever we needed to use a different color. I still love multi-pens and this Jetstream 3 is one of the best I've ever tried, combining one of the best superfine pens on the market (Jetstream .38) with the convenience of multiple colors.

4. UNIBALL SIGNO RT1 (.28/.38) GEL

This is the updated version of the Uniball RT, called the RT1. The clicker and body have been revamped and feels a little sturdier than the RT (although I quite like the RT as is) and the grip extends all the way to the bottom of the pen. I do like that it comes in a .28 and .38 point and I like the way it writes almost as much as the original RT so it made my top 5 list.

5. UNIBALL JETSTREAM (.38) STANDARD BALLPOINT

A favorite of many pen addicts. Flawless, smooth, skip-free, fast-drying -- and it's a ballpoint!

HONORABLE MENTION: PILOT G2 MINI

I snuck this pen in the mix because it's my husband's favorite and it's pretty darn cute. It's the miniature version of the ever-popular Pilot G2. Available only in (0.7).
